Here we will take stock of the SIN Freebox Server.

=> From this date (22/08/2011 ed) it is possible to administer your Freebox remote . To download via FTP remote is only possible by your browser.

Definition: FTP, File Transfer Protocol is a protocol for file transfer via TCP. It allows for a computer to copy files to another computer on the network to power a website, or delete or modify files on this computer

FTP


Log in to the administration interface of the Freebox.



Then head in NAS and FTP.


  • Enable FTP service
  • Choose a password
  • Enable or disable anonymous connections. (Do not activate, because everyone can connect without login above)
  • OK.

FTP locally


Open your browser and type:

ftp://mafreebox.freebox.fr



  • User: Freebox (it will not change, it is marked on the FTP interface of your Freebox, down, yes)
  • Password: The one you specified above




And here you have access to your NAS.

Remote FTP


Primarily refer to Chapter Freebox remote access .

Open your browser and type:

http://monadresseippublique:80




Head in the NAS game by clicking this icon you will find in the top middle.



To remotely download files from our NAS browse to your hard drive for your files. Once the files are found, you simply right-click on the file and download.



And following the download settings of your browser, the file will be downloaded into the default folder.

Note that for the moment, the FTP service is not running away, you must go through your remote management interface.

Windows share



Good always connect through the browser or the excellent FileZilla it may seem tedious. Free understood everything, because we can put the NAS in our working group and provides direct access to the NAS Network Neighborhood.


  • Enter your workgroup
  • NetBIOS name, the name will be visible on the network
  • Enable file sharing
  • Submit


Go to your network neighborhood, and there you will see your joy O FreeBox with the netbios name you told him!
